Jaime Andrés Mejía is an associate attorney at Kempster, Corcoran, Quiceno & Lenz-Calvo Ltd. Mr. Mejía practices immigration and nationality law with a focus on family-based immigration, removal defense, and humanitarian-based immigration.
Mr. Mejía was born to Colombian immigrants in New York City. He spent most of his childhood living between New York and Colombia. As an adult, he spent some time as an immigrant living in the United Kingdom. These experiences fundamentally shaped his understanding of the global immigration system–allowing him to bridge the gap many people have in their understanding of the immigration system as well as recognize the kind of help and support truly needed to navigate the same.
Mr. Mejía has a proven track-record of helping working-class families throughout his career. He assisted a workers’ compensation law firm dedicated to helping immigrant communities in New York City, provided support to a national personal injury and mass-tort plaintiffs’ law firm as they took on pharmaceutical companies, and volunteered to provide immigration assistance at legal clinics from local non-profit organizations like Erie Neighborhood House, Chicago Volunteer Legal Services, and The Resurrection Project. His current work is dedicated to keeping families together within the community.
