PREPARE NOW FOR THE 2016 H-1B QUOTA

KCQLC_Logo_Large_OnlyKOn April 1, 2015, the US Citizenship and Immigration Services will begin accepting new H-1B petitions subject to the fiscal year 2016 quota, with an H-1B start date of October 1, 2015. Kempster, Corcoran, Quiceno & Lenz-Calvo, Ltd. advises that employers seeking to file H-1B applications in the upcoming H-1B quota begin the process in order to allow for adequate preparation time.  Regulatory and processing requirements demand as much as 2 weeks of preparation time or more.

As many employers are aware, the H-1B quota for the FY 2015 was reached upon the opening of the initial five-day filing period. We advise that employers make all reasonable efforts to file H-1B applications on April 1, in order to maximize the chances of their employees obtaining H-1B status.

If you have any questions about the H-1B filing period or the 2016 cap, please contact one of our attorneys.
